The king of pop
Fresh off the release of CHI-RAQ, Spike Lee is back behind the director’s chair, but this time in a different capacity. He will be involved in the reissue of Michael Jackson‘s Off The Wall album, which Sony will re-package in a CD/DVD package on February 26.
The special edition of the album will contain a documentary, which Spike directed, with personal footage and interviews from family members and contemporary pop artists, as well as MJ’s own words to chronicle his rise from child star to King of Pop. Michael Jackson’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall will show the journey of him going from Motown kid to a disco superstar by the time the album impacted in 1979, for those who weren’t their to witness the transformation.
Lookout for the film to world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 24, before it airs on Showtime on February 5.
