Better Call Saul
Following the season finale of one of our favorite AMC shows in Breaking Bad, we were itching to find the next great series from the network. While many were tuned into their already hit shows like The Walking Dead and Mad Men, we got the exciting news from AMC and Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan that they would be bringing us a spin-off series that starred the unorthadox lawyer of Walter White/Heisenberg with Saul Goodman.
The showed takes place well before his work in Albuquerque, New Mexico and his infamous dealings with the drug peddler, when he was just James Morgan McGill. Better known as Slippin Jimmy, the con artist from Illinois. Once he gets a job at his brother’s law firm in the mail room, Jimmy soon after got his law degree and was hoping to get a job there, but it never happened, which was later learned to be at the hands of his brother.
After trying the lawyer thing on his own, he starts to find his way into some cases that seem a bit too much for him to handle. It eventually leads him to resort back to his old ways in order to get money, but that’s not all. He works his way into some bad dealings where he uses his persuasive tricks to make them work in his favor.
The series brings back some familiar faces from its predecessor with Tuco Salamanca, Mike Ehrmantraut, No-Doze and Gonzo, all who seem to be series regulars at the moment. While the verdict is still out on if this show will live up to the hype and be the perfect successor to Breaking Bad, we can’t help but to be excited for the second season in 2016, set to premiere in February. Especially with the possibility of Jesse Pinkman and Mr. White making some special guest appearances sometime later down the line.
All in all the show is pretty good and should give you a little bit of a Breaking Bad fix seeing some of those familiar faces appearing in this.
