True Detective
Losing Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson going into the second season is a huge loss, but we were lucky enough to see them on screen in the first place. Season one of True Detective took viewers on a whirlwind of an adventure in Louisiana on the hunt for a serial killer, and the eerie location turned out to be inch-perfect for the storyline. Creator Nic Pizzolatto is the man to thank for the twists, turns and cliffhangers, while director Cary Joji Fukunaga put together some of the best scenes on television (see: six-minute tracking shot in “Who Goes There”). With the likes of Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams casted for season two, expectations are high.
