Straight Outta Compton is going digital this January!
The wait for Straight Outta Compton in the comfort of your home will unfortunately take another two months. Universal Pictures has revealed the N.W.A. biopic will see an official Blu-Ray, DVD and On Demand release this January 19th, with the digital HD version set to go live January 5th.
An unrated director’s cut is also set to be included, which features 20-minutes of additional footage from director F. Gary Gray. Coinciding with the visual story of the legendary Los Angeles super group, two soundtracks will also be arriving during the film’s retail roll out.
Not to be confused with Dr. Dre’s COMPTON album. the first of which, Straight Outta Compton: The Soundtrack, will include remastered classics from N.W.A, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Eazy-E you heard throughout the film, in a 17-track presentation. The second audio album is titled Straight Outta Compton: Original Motion Picture Score, which will included another 17-tracks of composed and conducted by Joseph Trapanese, with production help from Bryan Lawson.
