The impact that Stretch & Bobbito made for hip-hop is undeniable. From their underground show in New York City, they broke so many artists and put rap music on the map. Big L, JAY Z, Wu-Tang, Eminem, Nas and plenty of your favorite artists stopped through the radio show to freestyle and got the respect of the game from coast to coast.
The two DJ’s are now putting out a documentary on Showtime titled Radio That Changed Lives that will chronicle their journey to the rap hall of fame.
From interviews with Hov, Raekwon, B-Real of Cypress Hill, Fat Joe, Nas, Common all tell their first hand experience with the Stretch and Bob, and how going on their show impacted their careers. For those who grew up in the era, or even if you didn’t, this will be a must watch.
Radio That Changed Lives premieres on Showtime on May 18.
