‘Suicide Squad’ Rating Revealed by the Motion Picture Association of America

Rated PG-13 it is, unfortunately

With both Deadpool and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice receiving R-Ratings last spring (see: Blu-ray), the stigma of comic-book hero movies taking a transition to the more mature audiences seemed imminent for the second biggest release of DC Comics this year.

According to the Motion Picture Association, Warner Bros. has decided to keep their upcoming film, Suicide Squad, under a standard PG-13 rating. From the previews and cast members, we weren’t expecting the highly-anticipated antihero film to receive censorship, but it’s set to have tons of action – with the rating based on suggestive content, violence, language and some disturbing behavior.

We guess producer Charles Roven is still serious about maintaining teen ratings within the Extended DCU saying, “it might may be right there on the edge surpasses its rating, but is still PG-13.”

Following antics of Cara Delevingne running through the woods naked during production and Jared Lero hilariously sending co-stars anal beads and used condoms, we’re sure a few of you may be let down. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t get one of the best presented films this summer, as well as seeing the PG-13 envelope pushed when Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5th.
