A Superman Prequel ‘Krypton’ Series Is In The Works

Get ready for Krypton on SyFy!

As Batman v Superman approaches $1 Billion in box office revenue, DC Comics is readying their next live-action TV series. Today, NBC Universal officially ordered a pilot for Kypton, a Superman prequel series. The show is set to follow Clark Kent’s grandfather, whose House of El was ostracized and shamed – as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

Dawn of Justice writer, David S. Goyer, has been tapped to helm the pilot’s script and will executive produce the show. Kyrpton is set to take place 200 years before the introduction of Man of Steel and thankfully will shy away from over-the-top visual effects plaguing the genre.

DC Comics now adds this live-action show to its lineup of: Gotham, Lucifer, The Flash, Arrow, iZombie, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and Preacher, which premieres May 22nd on AMC.
