Imagine being in prison and having the opportunity to receive a shorter sentence, money or even the recognition/fame from your country after being locked up. And not for good behavior, either. You would have to fight foreigners in a ring.
That’s exactly what’s going down at Klong Prem high-security prison in Bangkok, Thailand. Hand-picked boxers are trained in Muay Thai and given the opportunity to make the cut for the national team, boxing Westerners from different countries. This is a story of prisoners who have fought in the ring for their country. Not all inmates won or received what they were promised, but they were at least given the chance.
