In what may be the biggest case of deceit in the history of sports, Lance Armstrong has fallen far from grace. During his 2009 comeback after a four-year retirement from cycling, director Alex Gibney decided to follow Lance and document his historic moment.
“The Armstrong Lie” follows Lance through that period in time and the storm that shortly followed: The news about his doping, a lifetime ban from competition and the stripping of seven Tour de France titles. The Gibney documentary is meant to set the record straight about Lance’s career, telling his side of the story about what happened.
