The flashbacks
If it was one thing that sort of carried EMPIRE throughout the course of the season, were the flashbacks. They showed the Lyons’ humble beginnings and what it took to get them where they are now. From Lucius working on tracks in his living room, to Cookie taking the rap for a drug deal gone wrong and even how the kids acted back in their poorer years.
The one flashback that always kept coming up was the Jamal cross-dressing and being thrown in the trash can. That seemed to pop up every chance they got.
