“The Comeback” Returning To HBO After 9 Year Hiatus

In 2005, HBO launched a single-camera show known as The Comeback, which caught most of our attention on Sunday’s after their critically-acclaimed hit Entourage. While the show suffered low ratings following the big lead in from Entourage, it was abruptly cancelled after only one season (we miss Hello Ladies, too). Created by Lisa Kudrow (Friends) and Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City & Two Broke Girls), we felt The Comeback was really ahead of its time before reality TV changed the game. Its sarcastic approach to the entire entertainment industry delivered raw footage angles. TIME and Entertainment weekly even went on to name it as one of 10 best shows of the decade back in 2009.

Lisa Kudrow will be reprising her role as Valerie Cherish who thinks her dated 20-year old career is finally returning back to prominence. Filming is set to begin in a few weeks, which a six-episode season will premiere this fall on Sundays to join GIRLS, Game of Thrones, True Detective, and Boardwalk Empire among others. Stay tuned for more details for The Comeback leading up to its official return later this year.

Disclaimer: All 13 episodes of season 1 for The Comeback available now on HBO Go.
