Sony Pictures has finally shared the official trailer for The Dark Tower, the adaptation, or more of a new take, on Stephen King’s best-selling series of novels.
The first trailer throws us straight into the action, as Jake Chambers’ (Tom Taylor) visions turn into reality and throw him into the Mid-World. Soon enough, he’s on a quest with the Gunslinger (Idris Elba) to stop the tower from being destroyed by the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey). “You can’t stop what’s coming, death always wins” already sounds like a classic McConaughey line.
The Dark Tower rolls out into theaters on August 4th. Between this and IT, 2017 is set to be a big year for Stephen King.
