Jump into Life in 1970s NYC
2016 is set to be an even bigger and better year for Netflix original series. The latest show to get excited about is called The Get Down, which follows the lives of teens in South Bronx during the transformation of 1970s New York City. Baz Luhrmann, the director behind The Great Gatsby and Moulin Rouge!, created the musical drama alongside Shawn Ryan, consisting of 13 hour-long episodes in the first season.
The main cast includes Jimmy Smits, Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Herizen Guardiola and Skylan Brooks, with no release date announced yet.
