The show will depart itself
When HBO concluded the second season of The Leftovers just a week ago, the finale felt like a series finale, rather than just a season one. There are still questions that are a little unanswered and you can point out the obvious that this is a theme with Damon Lindelof dramas anyway, but it looks like the series is coming to an end soon.
The cable network has announced that they have renewed the show, but its third season will be its last. Now we can all pray to have every question answered about the Garvey’s, Guilty Remnant and what the hell Jarden, TX really is. Or we can continue to wonder and be left in the dark, theorizing about random easter eggs, and be even more confused than before.
“It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome back Damon Lindelof, Tom Perrotta, and the extraordinary talent behind The Leftovers for its third and final season. We admire and fully support Damon’s artistic vision and respect his decision to bring the show to its conclusion next season.” – HBO programming president Michael Lombardo
No more cave woman scenes to start the season, though.
