This season of Game of Thrones has been one suspense episode after another. From getting trolled the first few episodes as the show teased the return of Jon Snow, it seemed like the episodes following led up to the ultimate battle at Winterfell. In what they called the “Battle of the Bastards” (Jon Snow vs. Ramsay Bolton), the HBO series brought the series to an ultimate climax and ended it in epic fashion last night.
Sansa established herself as the baddest bish in the North, served revenge icey cold and claimed her stake in the land that her parents died protecting.
For those who watched last night’s episode, here is a break down at how Game of Thrones directors created the epic battle, revealing what inspired the fight scenes and why they took game from real-life medieval and Civil War battles. Visual effects people also shared how they enhanced the battle field to make it look like there were thousands of soldiers out there, bringing in over 500 extras and 70 horses.
From cast interviews about how they felt filming certain scenes (it took Kit Harrington a whole day to film the scene of him beating Ramsay to capture every punch possible), to showing how it all went down, this might be the most thorough episode the series ever filmed.
Was this Sansa and Jon’s best performances on the show or nah?
