The Fall network lineups are already in full force and FOX is trying to step up to be a forced to be reckoned with, trailing behind CBS and NBC in total viewers. In hopes that they land another hit, they are launching a slew of new shows this Fall, including what appears to be the very impressing GOTHAM and now, EMPIRE.
The hip-hop drama by Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels (“The Butler,” “Precious”) and Emmy Award winner Danny Strong, will focus on Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), a music mogul who has to decide who the heir of his empire will be, with news of developing a fatal disease that will only give him a few more years of life. Lucious has to pick between his three sons, all of which have strong suits in different areas.
Not to mention his estranged wife that comes into the picture once she is released from prison, after taking the fall for financing drug money to fund Lucious’ career.
EMPIRE also stars Taraji P. Henson and Gabourey Sidibe and will feature an original soundtrack written and produced by Timbaland. The series will air in Spring of 2015.
Is this something you’d see yourself watching?
