The Walking Dead returns on February 12th!
A few months ago, AMC held a screening for season 7 of The Walking Dead. Surprisingly, it received some negative criticism, after its extreme violence, as some fans are weary if things will change. With the show returning back to its origins of keeping the family together, executive producers Scott M. Gimple and Gale Anne Hurd addressed whether or not the show has toned down violence.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gimple and Hurd went to say, “If we’re ever going to see something that pronounced, there needs to be a specific narrative purpose for it. I don’t think we would ever edit ourselves, and I think — even after looking at that episode 1 again — as tough as it was for people to watch, I don’t think we would have done it any differently.”
However, after previously mentioned backlash, they sadly admitted to toning down for future episodes later in the season. Let us know in the comments what you think of the critics influencing changes below. Look for the upcoming season premiere on Sunday, February 12th.
