X-Men: Apocalypse out next Friday!
A few days ago, Olivia Munn sat down with American Way Magazine, to discuss her upcoming role in X-Men: Apocalypse later this month. However, before assuming the duties of Psylocke last year, Munn was originally offered a part in the X-Men spin-off series, Deadpool.
The Fox-released project, starring Ryan Reynolds, went to have the biggest February opening ever for an R-rated movie last winter – but Olivia wasn’t on board with its direction.
She touched on the role providing no real career opportunity saying, “I thought Psylocke was always one of the most lethal characters, and I said, ‘Yes, as long as you’re not using her to be the eye candy. She has really powerful abilities.’ And they said, ‘Yes, that’s an important part.’ ”
So basically, Munn shot down her chance at playing Vanessa in Deadpool, because she didn’t want to play a girlfriend role. With a confirmed Deadpool sequel nearing and Apocalypse receiving mixed reviews, we’re curious if Olivia has any second guesses of her choice in the X-Men Universe.
