Tony Montana is leaving South Beach for Hollywood!

Last fall, news surfaced that the upcoming reboot of the original ‘80s Scarface would have a change of plans for its lenses. Originally, Training Day director Antoine Fuqua was set to have the gig, but those plans were soon changed, to an indefinite search currently going on.

Luckily, Universal Pictures found its screenwriter in Terrence Winter (The Sopranos, The Wolf of Wall Street) to help come up with a script. As the project gets closer to actually seeing a green light, the role of Tony Montana has been announced. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star, Diego Luna, will reportedly star in the reboot – with other characters set to be announced in the coming weeks.

Universal is targeting a production start of this spring, but that could be hindered if the they fail to find a director. Let us know in the comments what you think about the new Tony Montana.
