Ocean’s Ocho coming 2019?
Today, Warner Bros. has revealed plans to resurrect its Ocean’s Eleven series, with an all-female driven cast. The spin-off, which will be directed by Gary Ross (see: The Hunger Games, Pleasantville), is set to star the likes of Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett – with Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina close to deals for the motion picture.
Filming is set to begin this October in New York, as the production company looks to continue from its $1.12 billion worldwide grossing trilogy from last decade. Original Ocean’s Eleven director, Steven Soderbergh, will assume the reigns of producer for ocho, as Mr. Ross will also help write the film’s script with Oliva Milch. After witnessing the backlash this summer for the revision of Ghostbusters, we’re curious if long-time Rat Pack lovers will be fond of this change as well.
Look for a potential teaser trailer to arrive by next summer’s end.
