Or any other hardware from this company. . .
Three years ago, I purchased my sister an Amazon Kindle Fire HDX tablet for the reasonable price of $349.99. At the time, while iPads were priced at $499 for a basic model, we thought that the Kindle could provide nearly an identical experience – with the exception of a few apps. Last week, we did a massive software update and it completely crashed the entire tablet, to the point where it doesn’t even turn on.
We’re not the only ones complaining about this issue, as various users of the Kindle Fire and other tablets within its family have had the same problem. Some users complaining even said their tablet was fully charged upon the update and the Kindle screen just went completely black after the installation.
After two calls with Amazon and multiple emails that were ignored, the company said they wouldn’t replace or at least repair the faulty product – which they’re completely to blame regarding the situation. With the lack of customer service support and the company essentially ignoring hundreds of others like us, I can’t see our business relationship with the online store going forward in any fashion after this fuckery.
Our Kindle had minimal scratches, remained in a case and often only used for reading magazines and novels.
Do yourself a favor and stick to Asus, Samsung, Windows and/or most of all, Apple.
