Right after the 2017 NBA Finals ended and the Golden State Warriors were crowned champions of the league, Nike appropriately ran this new ‘Debate This’ commercial to coincide with Kevin Durant winning Finals MVP. In the spot, you have fake analysts and ‘haters’ spewing criticism about KD (shots at Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless, right?) and everything he’s done in his career. From being too soft or skinny when entering the league from out of college, to his big move to Oakland to join the Warriors after being in Oklahoma City his whole career. The hate kept piling on.
But after winning his first ring, the people were silenced and couldn’t say shit.
