WGN with the original series
When we first heard of WGN’s new series Underground last month, the fact John Legend was executive producing it made us want to check it out. Now, the network has announced the premiere date for the series (March 9) and has released two trailers to go along with the news. In both, we see how high the stakes are for the slaves living in the plantation and their goal to escape.
Kanye West‘s “Black Skinhead” soundtracks the first trailer, which is full of suspense, explosives and gun fights. Not to mention a small revolution en route to the Underground Railroad.
As we first told you, Straight Outta Compton‘s Aldis Hodge stars in the series as Noah (the slave who organizes the plan of escape for him and others), plus the likes of Jussie Smollett, Chris Meloni and Mykelti Williamson also play prominent roles.
