Over the last two years, Chicago’s been an imprint from having some of the most diverse music in the world. In the midst of finally obtaining national attention, the cities morseo been known its violent areas to become murder capital in the U.S. Noisey decided to shed light on Chicago’s music scene that has been scapegoated for violence, as well as documenting their careers.
ChiRaq (Chicago + Iraq) are the original inventors of Gang violence, which the documentary focuses on off-spring sets from the Folk Nation; including both the Black Disciples and Gangster Disciples. In episode one, we travel to the hoods and studios of Young Chop, Chief Keef, and Lil Durk among others. The clip centers mainly on captured footage, tweets, and brief interviews as we expect the 8-part series to pick up as time passes.
