Chic
If I had to pick out the best set of the festival, there’s no doubt in my mind that Chic would be above all. It was a blast from the past, with Nile Rodgers and co creating an experience of disco energy through the essence of love and funk. The nearly 20-track set list was a journey through the career of Rodgers, playings classics such as “Everybody Dance,” “Le Freak,” “I Want Your Love” and music from Diana Ross, Sister Sledge, Duran Duran, Daft Punk and David Bowie. It was an emotional show for Nile too, after guitar technician Terry Brauer passed away earlier that day, bringing him and the audience to tears, while speaking on his battle with cancer. They also had the world’s biggest ever disco ball by their side, with Disclosure hitting the stage.
