Common – The 6th Sense
Common‘s catalogue is one of the most consistent in hip-hop history, but Like Water For Chocolate is undoubtedly a fan favorite and always will be. While J Dilla helped produce much of the LP, one of the standouts was the first single “The 6th Sense” by DJ Premier. Bilal only sang a few words and crooned over scratches on the hook, but it’s a true example of hip-hop from the soul.
