“I gotta know who’s my competition & I gotta respect them”
Today, 2 Chainz was in mid-town for his first guest appearance on Complex Network’s Everyday Struggle. With his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music album set to drop in exactly a week, Tity revealed that he’s already working on a follow-up project – which he touts that’s going to fuck the game up.
He also touched on Lil Wayne giving him career direction, in a sense of ditching the idea of a traditional music structure back in 2008. After witnessing Weezy rap his way of a regular hook sound, Chainz decided it was best to take advice from one of his friends in the game.
Things soon transitioned to him sharing another rare story of recording his popular 2012 single “Birthday Song,” on a tour bus with Kanye West during South by Southwest in Austin.
However before leaving, Tity also explained legends in the south paving the way for artists like him and Future, as well as them passing the torch to Migos and Young Thug.
Take a look at the entire conversation above, then look for PRETTY GIRLS 👍 TRΛP MUSIC next Friday.
