2013 OnSMASH Staff Picks: Albums

albumcase

It’s that time of year again, folks. Let the end of year lists begin! What a year it’s been. Jay Z forcefully changing the music industry and Eminem dropping a new album in the same calendar year is almost unheard of. Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake’s return to center stage had the Internets in a frenzy. J. Cole going head-to-head with Kanye West with release dates brought back some reminiscent memories in hip-hop. Kendrick’s “Control” verse has been the talk of the town ever since that eventful night, and dare we say had a few rappers feeling some type of way (no pun).

We here at OnSMASH have quite the eclectic and opinionated taste in music, and we thought we would share our favorites from the year. Now, these are not lists to create a frenzy on Twitter or reach for reactions. These are not what we think the “top” albums of the year are. They’re simply each member’s FAVORITES from the year. The albums and songs we simply could not force out of rotation, even if we tried. It’s interesting to point out that there was no CLEAR CUT unanimous pick across the board, so that should tell you how different everyone’s tastes on the team are.

Be sure to hit the comments section and let us know what you think of each list, what we may have missed, or what some of your favorites from 2013 were!
