When it comes down to ranking music, I rarely think of where newly released songs stand in my list of favorites. Sure, there’s a collection I listen to on various occasions, but I mostly think of tracks as part of a project or a taste of what’s to come from an album, with a preference for sitting down with a body of work in order to digest the energy from the intended sound. Although many electronic acts have played an importance in partying throughout the year, I decided to stick with more of an indie/hip-hop approach to sum up the majority of my go-to sounds of 2013. However, I did leave out some the more low-tempo tracks and kept the mood somewhat stable.
