With The GRAMMY Awards around the corner and slated to air on January 31, reports are now saying the ceremony has been postponed. According to AP, the Recording Academy has not announced a new date, but they are looking at March as a possible target rescheduling. The reason for the postponement is thanks to a surge in COVID-19 numbers recently.
Rolling Stone reports that the Academy was looking to hold the GRAMMYs without an audience or artists. The only ones who would attend would be the presenters and performing artists.
With a spike in numbers for the virus, this and many more awards might get postponed moving forward.
