All eyez weren’t on this broadway musical.

After a subpar start and mixed reviews that leaned more towards lackluster, the 2pac Broadway musical directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon “Holler If Ya Hear Me” will be closing its doors on Sunday. The $8 million dollar show has now become one of the worst-selling musical in recent years, only amounting to a total of 17 preview performances and 38 regular at the Palace Theater in New York City.

Eric L. Gold, one lead producer, told Variety that it will be hard to bring another Hip-Hop show to Broadway and he underestimated how much money it would actually take to keep the show running. When it’s all said and done, there is no one thing that led to the show’s closing, but rather a combination of factors.

Gold issued a statement on closing the curtain saying:

We are so proud to be a part of this ground-breaking production. The cast, musicians, production and creative teams gave more than just their professional excellence but contributed their passion as well. My hope is that a production of this caliber, powerful in its story-telling, filled with great performances and exciting contemporary dance and music will eventually receive the recognition it deserves. Tupac’s urgent socially important insights and the audiences’ nightly rousing standing ovations deserve to be experienced by the world.

If you want to be one of the last to watch the failed musical, there’s still time to buy tickets. The curtains officially come down in four days.

Rest in peace 2pac. Your music still lives.
