Damon Albarn Takes Over Historic London Venue
This past weekend, Damon Albarn took to the mighty Royal Albert Hall stage for two sold out shows, highlighting a career of material since the early ’90s. Despite focusing on his first solo album Everyday Robots, released earlier this year, the iconic London musician used the opportunity to perform work from his popular days of Blur, Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad & The Queen and Mali Music. Forget about the stage name, it was all about enjoying good music.
Settling personal nerves by deciding the venue was just a “really big pub,” Albarn performed everything from hits to songs never even played live before. It was a memorable experience for fans of all ages, and thanks to a wide range of guests, there was something for everyone.
Based on our obsersation on Saturday, here are six guests who took part in the two-hour celebration.
