Afel Bocoum and Madou Diabeté are two of many friends responsible for the Mali Music collaboration back in 2002. It made sense that they were the first surprise guests of the night, and it wasn’t hard to tell how proud Damon Albarn was to welcome them. One of two tracks they performed together was “Sunset Coming On,” in which the crowd sang along to the entire song.
