Still D.R.E.
Much like he probably felt like when DETOX was in the works, Dr. Dre had a lot to prove back when 2001 was on the horizon. How could you ever live up to such a classic like The Chronic? That was the pressure he was under with his sophomore effort and probably why he’s been gone from music for 16 years. When you deliver such quality, there’s no way you want to water that down.
Then “Still D.R.E.” proved everyone wrong and put the haters in their place. He had a lot to live up to and he did, solidifying himself as the king of this this West Coast production shit.
