Eminem spit so many freestyles at radio stations before he officially blew up once he signed a deal with Dr. Dre and Aftermath that some of them might be still be unheard of.
17 years later, DJ Eclipse has now shared an old Halftime show back from 1998, with special guests Em and Royce Da 5’9″ that should sound familiar to those who listened to old freestyles Mr. Mathers spit back in the day. During the visit, Slim Shady was promoting his single “Just Don’t Give A Fuck” with the “Brain Damage” b-side and plugged his debut album during the short interview. It was also revealed the duo were making their rounds on the road for the Lyricist Lounge Tour, right before they started jacking for beats with the freestyles.
We were such stans in the beginning of Marshall’s career, we’ve heard most of these bars, but we can’t expect everyone else to have done the same. The two Detroit MC’s go back and forth something like “Bad Meets Evil” off the Slim Shady LP, taking us to the good days of Slim.
Listen to the two rhyme starting at about an hour and twenty five minutes into the show.
