In this sit-down interview with Goggle Play, A$AP Rocky discusses the history of the A$AP Mob movement saying they’re one of the newer groups in hip-hop “daring to differ” in which they feel comfortable in their shoes to make music that will be accepted no matter what, which we agree with. He goes onto saying his career was born through the Internet and taking advantage of showcasing his talents for his talents with quicker access to his music during his early days being one of the first artist to take advantage of the new-age in hip-hop we see today with artist going to the web(s) first.
Rocky went on to breakdown his visuals for “Wassup” saying he wanted to take away assumptions from stereotypes of the genre taking a collection of movies most of us grew up to including Belly intro for the introduction with the Warriors, Scarface, New Jack City, Willy Wonka and Enter The Dragon all in tribute for the visuals.
He closes out with speaking on his need to have complete control of his music, something rare in music which he plans to keep giving his fans quality music material in the future.
