Ab-Soul Talks ‘Longterm 3’ Mixtape & Kendrick Lamar Career Decisions

Control System 2?

With SZA and ScHoolboy Q set to drop albums this summer, Ab-Soul is in the preliminary promotions for the follow-up to holiday 2016 Do What Thou Wilt effort.

In an interview with Montreality, the Los Angeles native went to reveal he was planning a third installment in his Longterm mixtape series. He was soon questioned on whether or not he would offer a sequel to his acclaimed Control System album, as he shied away from the possibility.

While he did say it was a slight chance of the affair happening, he cited emotional times being a little much for him to fathom for a sequel. Soon after the pending music announcement, the TDE rapper went to address Kendrick Lamar’s career timeline over the last seven years.

With GKMC serving as an autobiographical tale to his days in Compton, Ab explained how To Pimp a Butterfly was an album catered to their parents and older peers – which featured lots of sampling.

However, with DAMN emerging as one of the year’s best projects, Soulo touched on his friend revisiting his “K. Dot” days, questioning the government and its powers that be.

Watch more from the full interview below and look for Longterm 3 mixtape later this year.
