It’s fascinating how much Adele is absolutely taking over the music industry in 2015, just when everyone thought record sales were on the verge of being extinct. Going platinum in one week is unheard of in today’s age, and she managed to sell three times that with ease, shattering sales that haven’t been seen since the boy band era. Now the UK sensation has another record under the belt.
According to Billboard, Adele has sold over a million copies of 25, which makes it the first album to go platinum on back-to-back weeks since Neilsen Soundscan began tracking sales in 1991.
Could she do it three weeks in a row? The probability is very high.
