Although this song has been circulating Youtube for years as a rare b-side, Salaam Remi released the CDQ version of the track not too long ago. As he tells VIBE for their new issue, they traveled to London for a friend’s wedding, but the producer did not get the opportunity to see her before her tragic death.
The two had finished writing for the new album but nothing had been recorded at the time of her passing. There are unfinished tracks in the stash, but nothing has been mastered or confirmation of a posthumous album as of yet.
For the last couple of weeks we were video chatting regularly. I was just talking to Nas. Both her and Nas were born on September 14, so we were going to Barbados with all of them for her birthday. She really doesn’t look forward to her birthday, you know what I’m saying?
