Drizzy 24/7!
Radio stations are flipped all the time after being sold to other investors, but WQNC in Charlotte has done it in the most original of ways for this generation. The former gospel station moved to 100.9 FM and the new station rebranded itself to Drake 92.7, playing all Drake, all the time.
The station is promoting a big announcement today at 5:00 pm, with listeners from the area and beyond enjoying the 24/7 Drizzy playlist.
Chances are the station will announce their plans for the format they will be using moving forward, and the OVO playlist will be short lived and was only used to drum up interest. There were rumors that Drake may have purchased the station, but the FCC does not allow international parties to purchased broadcast stations. Chances are, the station will become a classic hip-hop station, much like what has been taking over the nation as of recently on terrestrial radio.
