Apple Might Bring Price Down for Apple Music

Spotify may have the commanding lead, but you can’t ignore the fact that Apple Music is taking strides in the streaming wars. And now they might undercut the giant in price as well.

According to Digital Music News, Apple is looking to cut the price of Apple Music by 20%. This would mean you would be paying $7.99 if you’re a subscriber already. Not to mention the fact new subscribers get three months free.

If you’re on the family plan, the price would decrease $2 to $12.99.

The only price that wouldn’t change is the $4.99 student plan, which you can verify through a college email and receive the discount as soon as your cycle ends.

It is not clear whether or not this is part of a holiday promotion or not, reserved only to new subscribers and/or the deal would end after the holiday season. Regardless, Apple will have to pay royalties out of their own pocket to make up for the cut in price. We’re sure this is only one way to remain competitive in the market, to go along with exclusives, etc.
