Apple Music Receiving Major Service Revamp in June

Possibly the largest iOS update is coming in June

Earlier today, reports from Bloomberg surfaced that Apple was planning to give its music streaming service an update this summer. According to insiders, Apple Music is set to relaunch an all-new user interface, that will combine music streaming and downloading – following a minor decrease in download sales this year. While the company has held a steady $3.5 billion in digital music revenue, it’s still behind nearly half of its rival Spotify user base, which currently has 25 million subscribers.

Along with the service overhaul in a few weeks, the company is also planning to roll-out a slew of new radio stations, that will likely mirror the success of its main Beats 1 channel – headlined by Drake, Pharrell Williams and Q-Tip among others. After its first three month trial concluded for new users, Apple shockingly implemented their music service onto Android devices; but is still sometime away from becoming the streaming king. Look for a formal press release later this month.
