Ariana Grande saves the season premiere of SNL with two performances
After a long break over the summer, Studio 8H was finally re-opened for the 40th season premiere of NBC’s long-running sketch comedy series, Saturday Night Live. While new changes, faces, Chris Pratt, Leslie Jones and constant mocking of the NFL and Roger Goodell were the main focal points of the first splash of comedic relief tonight – Ariana Grande gave viewers a huge sigh of relief from the lackluster affair when she hit the stage.
With her sophomore album My Everything still fresh in the minds of listeners, the songstress-actress gave two live performances at 30 Rock for the hit-single “Break Free” and “Love Me Harder” with The Weeknd. We’re assuming most who tuned in without the usage of social media were expecting a collaborative performance with Big Sean for “Best Mistake,” but instead were treated to the popstress showcasing her vocal abilities for the live setting.
Hopefully the next time she returns to SNL, Lorne Michaels gives double duties with a debut hosting gig.
