Artists We Want To See On “The Ashtray”

By now, we’re hoping most of you would be familiar with DJ Burn One’s latest instrumental project, The Ashtray (for those of you that aren’t up on game, click here).

It seems like the more we listen to it, the more we drift off into dream world where we A&R’d the project with collaborations that would fit the instrumentals the best. Of course we could really dream and put Kanye West, Jay-Z and Andre 3000 on every track and call it a day, but we’re trying to be realistic here. This isn’t a fairy tale.

Check out what we came up with below and let us know who we got right, or would fit better on some of the beats. Maybe we missed something.

9. And Then There Was… The Green Machine
Curren$y & Yelawolf: Remember this collaboration that never materialized? Or maybe it did and we just haven’t heard it yet. Either way we needed this, like, last week. Any beat with “green” in the title should automatically go to Curren$y anyway.

1. Lucy Says High
Kendrick Lamar: K-Dot’s introspective raps would be the perfect combination for DJ Burn One’s production landscape on this one. Imagine if they rocked for a whole EP together? Whoa, …..”Hol’ Up.”

3. The Mighty
Wiz Khalifa & Chevy Woods: The Taylor Gang duo would be perfect for this beat. Fast cars, bad bitches and high grade green? We approve this message.

10. Sheet Rock In Technicolor
Devin The Dude: We’re sure every track on the project would have some sort of drug induced weed connotation to it, but we would want Devin to handle the title track on the project. I mean, truly ask yourself, who does it better than Devin?

14. More Smash Potatoes
Nipsey Hussle & Cee-Lo Green: With Cee-Lo on the hook and Nipsey representing that Slauson Ave/ California life, this would be the perfect track for the ride out to on a summer night. If you listen real close, you might be able to hear his voice blaring out of the speakers. God bless this song.

BONUS:
2. School Daze
Bun B & Big K.R.I.T: We already heard the damage they could do together on this Pimp C track. But something tells us KRIT could drop some fire over this production. We’re surprised this collaboration hasn’t already happened. Country rap needs it.
