Kanye West is always working and getting production submitted to him from all angles. Back in 2012, Benjamin Bronfman (of the band Teachers), sent Yeezy a handful of beats to check out during the making of his next album. After working with him on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, it was only right he sent him some more production.
One of the beats in the batch was called “Cruel Cold Winter,” but Bronfman didn’t hear anything from Kanye while he was out recording in Paris.
That was until the next year when Yeezus and company had already concocted “New Slaves” and had the idea for the projections on side of buildings thought up. By the time Ben heard the track, he was hyped on the song, content and roll out.
