Here’s how Bey did for week 1!
After seven days since its premiere on HBO, Beyoncé’s official first week sales for Lemonade have finally arrived. The Queen now returns atop of Billboard’s 200, making this her sixth overall no. 1 album debut since 2003. According to Nielsen Music, the new project generated 653,000 equivalent album units is its first seven days, with pure album sales totaling 485,000.
The 12-song visual album, which hit iTunes on Monday night, is still only found on Tidal for streaming usage. Luckily, fans who haven’t made the full transition to the digital world, will get their hands on Bey’s physical copy later this week, when the new album hits retailers on May 6th.
With her Formation World Tour beginning last week with DJ Khaled, she also becomes the only artist ever to have all six of her first studio efforts to top sales charts. Congrats to the Carters.
