The Brooklyn GS9 crew faces up to 25 years after declining plea deal
Last December, NYPD detectives ended their two-year investigation against Bobby Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel and 14 unknown members of GS9 for conspiracy, murder, assault, drug and weapons charges. Shmoney Shmurda appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court Thursday alongside his cohort Rowdy to learn their immediate fate regarding the 101-count indictment they’re currently proclaiming innocence against.
Judge James Burke advised Bobby to take an 8-year plea deal and Rowdy a 7-year stint; but the Brooklyn rappers declined the offer, putting fate in the hands of lawyers to prove their innocence later this year. The GS9 collective will now see their trial pushed back to October 5, 2015, which will be nearly 10 months since their original arrest late last year. The trial could extended as far as Martin Luther King Day on January 18, 2016 – as the entire GS9 camp will look to avoid blowing trial of 25 years in the coming months.
