One listen to Brother Ali’s new single and all you can hear is the inspiration in the record. “Own Light (What Hearts Are For)” is actually dedicated to Jon Moore, someone who was an inspiration to Ali. The video was shot in his second home of Seattle, and shows the beautiful scenery of the Pacific Northwest. The track will be featured on his upcoming album All The Beauty In This Whole Life, which is due out May 5.
Ali shared a message for what the video means to him, as well as the tracklisting to his new effort.
“Very excited to present the video for Own Light, produced by my friend Dave Wilson. It was filmed in the Pacific Northwest and is dedicated to our recently departed brother and mentor, Jonathan Moore. Thank you to everyone who took part in this project and social thanks to Dr Umar Faruq Abd Allah for the introduction and inspiration.”
