Earlier today, Cee Lo Green stopped by Sirius studios to talk with the King of all media, Howard Stern. In the interview, Howard opened up with Cee Lo’s first departure from The Voice (not his choice), which he wanted to stay with the show, he was eventually not brought back for last season which became a flop. Things then transitioned to Cee Lo’s bad environments growing up in Atlanta, with his father dying at 2, and then his mother paralyzed at the age of 16 in a car accident then would pass a few years later.
He was on track to becoming a victim of street life, but he used music as a tool to leave it behind. Howard tapped into Cee Lo’s past involvements with Danger Mouse for Gnarls Barkley and the legendary Goodie Mob collective; which Green opened up about the two being in two of their darkest moments in their lives at the peak of their solo careers.
