Decoded: 9th Wonder “Threat”

It could be argued that Life+Times’ Decoded series is mostly known for covering tracks that have recently been released, but this time they went back to just under a decade ago for undoubtedly one of the most impeccable albums. 9th Wonder sat down to discuss the production process behind Jay-Z’s “Threat,” which appeared on The Black Album back in 2003. The Grammy Award-winning producer spoke on how the collaboration came about, and explained how he previewed a number of beats to Hov, but was told to sample a song of his choice. He went into further detail about the instrumental itself and elaborated on what was specifically used.
